Durban Stadium : 100m high arch complete

January 15, 2009

The last segment of the 106m high arch that will support the roof of the new Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban was hoisted into place yesterday (13 January 2009) afternoon to much fanfare.

After dangling in what looked to be a fairly precarious manner for the last month or two, it was something of a relief all round to see the two ends of the arch finally joined.

There are some good pics here : http://blog.ecr.co.za/cockontheblog/?p=1039#more-1039
