This Blog

May 5, 2007

This blog is all about the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July.  The event itself is obviously a long time away, but that’s not to say that there aren’t lots of things to muse over before then.  The big question thats always raised in the media, of course, is can such a big event be hosted by an African country?  Will they be ready on time?  Can the organisation match that of the 2006 event in Germany?

One of the main aims of this blog is therefore to give some insight into what’s happening in South Africa during the countdown to 2010. I live in Durban which will host the qualifying competition draw on 23 November 2007, as well as six first-round matches, one second-round, and one semifinal match, so alot of my focus will be on whats happening here.

I’d also like to have some guest bloggers giving some stories on what is happening in their countries in the build up to 2010.

Finally, check out our main website at www.satwentyten.com, where you’ll find information on South Africa, the host cities, latest news, and any other stuff we feel like adding in.
